Winter Storm Warning Issued for May 11

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning from Sunday, May 11 at 6 am from Monday, May 12 at noon

Rain mixed with snow is expected to turn to all snow from north to south across the Front Range urban corridor by mid to late Sunday morning. Snow will then continue Sunday night before decreasing Monday morning.

Snow accumulations of 4 to 9 inches are predicated. The heavy wet snow may accumulate sufficiently on leafed out trees to break tree limbs causing power outages. If traveling Sunday night or early Monday morning, expect slushy roads as temperatures drop below freezing.

Be Prepared

A winter storm warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring.  Significant amounts of snow are forecast that may break tree limbs and cause power outages.
