Producer/DJ Deadmau5 could be getting some push back from Disney over his signature mau5 head helmet.
Billboard says Disney is looking into a trademark registration request filed last year by the electronic music artist, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman. The site says the U.S. Trademark Office has granted Disney 90 days to investigate Zimmerman's claim and file a notice of opposition.
Apparently the corporation is looking to prove that Deadmau5's cartoon logo - consisting of a black, large-eared mouse head with white eyes - could be confused with its classic character Mickey Mouse. If successful, Deadmau5 could be prevented from using the logo on his merchandise.
